Give me Your eyes for just one second...

This whole idea/project, which I have decided to name the "Be Your Hands Project" has stemmed from two things: what I believe God has called me to do from the very beginning, which is "feed my sheep" and from a particularly frustrating issue at work which has been placed on my heart a lot this past week.
Recap: So I'm sitting at my desk once again, talking to one of my client's and telling her I can't help her and that she's basically on her own. This is one aspect of my job I'd rather do without. I am coming across SO MANY single mom's who just don't qualify for any assistance whatsoever (government). Mom's who are working hard, working two and three jobs and going to school. Mom's who are going back to work too soon after having a baby because they can't afford not to. Mom's who are getting no help from the father's who have decided to up and leave. I'm tired of having to sit there and tell them I can't do anything when there are so many people who are abusing the system to get all the help they can. I'm tired of not having any alternatives for them or places for them to turn to to receive ANY help they can get. Anything at all. Diapers. Food. Affordable rent in a decent part of town. Medical coverage. It's a hard world out there - even for those who have jobs and families and friends. I'm attempting to pray through a solution for this problem. To start something. To offer some kind of help. I don't know what will come of it or when. Or how. But I want to try. Jesus wouldn't be sitting in his house ignoring the world outside. He would be out there helping. Leading. Serving. I can't get Brandon Heath's song out of my head, "Give me Your eyes for just one second, give me Your eyes so I can see everything that I keep missing, give Your love for humanity. Give me your arms for the broken hearted, the ones that are far beyond my reach. Give me your heart for the one's forgotten, Give me your eyes so I can see." What would Jesus see? What would He do? He would love, actively and completely.
